When are you going? What is your age range? Are you going by yourself?
I am from Spain and I can tell you about it of you tell me how many days you'll be there and what cities.

Pack a light jacket or sweater. It could get cool at night.
They are probably going to drag you from museum to museum and from monument to monument. I visited Italy that way when I was 16. After a while they all seem the same. I hope they let you go out and enjoy the night life. No drinking age in Spain.
For the plane on the way there try to sleep it makes the trip a lot shorter.

Sorry I have no recommendations. Just remember you can ask for a beer at any restaurant. I believe even at McDonald's.

So. It is perfectly legal over there. I had alcohol available to me at a young age and I never got drunk.

But again I wouldn't encourge drinking to a 17 year old. Come on now, that's just ridiculous.
