Default Driving fr MD to CO

Looking for some road condition info for a trip fr MD to CO. Have taken I-70 in the past but wondering about construction delays. Considering I-40 because we would like to come through New Mex and swing north through the pueblo country.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Construction on I-70 in the Dayton, OH area between the junction of I-675 and I-75 (about 11 miles) Delays seem to be somewhat less now that they've made good progress on it. (Nightime construction delays still tend to slow things a bit) Also, a construction area just west of Columbus, OH (London, OH to Springfield, OH) may slow you a bit, as well

Just so you know there are I-70 delays in Kansas City and I-40 delays in Knoxville, TN as well. Though nothing too dramatic, you should probably just enjoy the flowers.

Radical concept, I know, but have you considered taking secondary roads? When my husband and I frequently drove from Missouri to Colorado (too frequently), we always took the back roads and really enjoyed seeing the countryside. Surprisingly, it did not slow us down significantly. It's really a LOT nicer than driving interstates.
