Albany, NY to Louisville, KY. My dad had business in Louisville and took me along--he dropped me at my cousins house for a few days, it was a blast.

Smoking was still allowed on planes, women needed to pay to use the toilet in the airport. That was before the days of deregulation, and we had to fly on two seperate carriers to get there. We took a regional carrier to LGA and then flew Eastern to Louisville. We were served a full meal on the flight to Louisville, I remember thinking it was so cool, but didn't care for the food.

I don't fly that often. My first was when I was 14 in spring 1998 with my father, flew US Air from LaGuardia (NYC) to Omaha,Nebraksa via Kansas City to see my uncle & grandmother. I think it was on a 737-400 from and to LGA but a small plane to Kansas City.
I then flew in the summer of 1999 with my family from JFK (NYC) to the Bahamas via Miami with American Airlines for a week at an all inclusive resort. The flight back to Miami was terrible in a small plane with some turbulence. I believe Airbus A320 to and from JFK.
In March 2000, I flew from Hartford to Orlando for a high school band competion at Disney World. US Air on a 737 both ways. Pretty boring flight.
Lastly, I flew in December 2002 back from college near Harrisburg, PA to Hartford,CT via Philadelphia because I didn't have a car and my parents couldn't pick up me. I also had to fly back to Harrisburg in January via Philadelphia. My flight was in late to Philly and I had to run and almost got lost in the airport to get onto Philly. Us Air again.

I haven't flow since but will be flying in early April to Phoenix to go to a college friends wedding. I haven't booked a ticket yet but it looks like Jet Blue has the best prices to there out of all the companies out of the New York City area, even with a non stop flights.

Were you also required to get out in mid-air?

I know more than one guy whose first flight also ended with their first parachute jump.

I feel like I'm cheating on this one. My father and uncle owned a series of small planes first an old Beechcraft Bonanza V Tail and then two different Censsna 310's. Back in the 50's and 60's when I was growing up we'd take the "family plane" on all our vacations. The plane was used for business so it wasn't just for vacations. The first commercial flight I remember is to Hawaii in the early 60's.
