Default Where to go on solo vacation?

I am 23 years old. I've just finished my undergraduate degree and started my career job just as fast.

I've always wanted to spend traveling after I was done university but since a good job has presented itself in front of me, I cannot pass this up. However, I will be able to take 1-2 weeks off before becoming a permanent employee.

Seeing I may want to travel in September, and on such short notice, I'd be a solo traveler. All I am looking for here are suggestions for trips to do. I am really open to anything and everything and seeing if any of you have had a successful solo vacation/trip. Also, keep in my mind my age group (early 20s).

Also, would anybody suggest trying to find a tour group of sorts?

Money is not a huge factor for me.

Ocuri,
I know that I saw something on the lonely planet website about postings for people that were looking for traveling companions, but couldn't find it when I was just looking now. I did find this - Solo Travel for Women which looked quite interesting.

My daughter (also 23) has been doing some solo travel in Asia but not for more then a day or two and then she hooks up with a friend. She has told me that Thailand was just phenomenal for a vacation. She's just finishing up a year of teaching in China and was able to get to Thailand twice and did some rock climbing, hiking and went to some wonderful beaches. She has a good friend who is teaching there, also for a year. It just occured to me that visiting friends abroad is something she and her friends do. She had three people visit her in China and she also visited a friend in S.Korea. Got any friends that are overseas?

Oops, just realized that you may not be a woman. My apologies!

Ocuri,
Probably the best way to get suggestions for places to visit are to mention the things that you like to do and your travel limits, that is if you want to rock climb and stay in the US. Or perhaps you dislike the outdoors and want to see another city or love the beach, etc.....
