you are absolutly right Rudy! Plitvice is a real heaven on earth. We visit it almost every year when we are driving back from our summer holidays on Croatian Islands. We have vistied Island Brac, Korcula, Pag..But our personal favourit is absolutly Island Hvar...Amazing Island. Beautiful envoirment, crystal clear see, nice beaches, great wine & food...Also for people who are coming for parties, nightlife,...for this kind of vacation City Hvar on Island Hvar is a place to be... You can see some pictures on carpe-diem-hvar.com :: Carpe Diem (http://www.carpe-diem-hvar.com/html/carpe_diem.php - broken link)

Here's a typical Brit question.

Are there any language difficulties?

None for us.
The only time we had the least bit of trouble was when we arrived, by ferry, in Sucuraj on the island of Hvar. We had to figure out how to get to Hvar Town, and for a little while it was difficult communicating. But we did make ourselves understood, and the taxi cab driver that we found spoke excellent English, as did everyone in Hvar Town as well as Dubrovnik.

I have considered going for a while and Dubrovnik looks fantastic.

Dubrovnik can be crowded when the cruise ships come in.
But visually Old Town is stunning, as is all the Dalmatian coast.
