A passenger traveling on a bus across Canada's vast Western plains stabbed, gutted and decapitated a man seated next to him in an unexplained attack, a witness told media Thursday.

The victim had been sleeping before he was repeatedly stabbed in the chest by a man with a large knife, witness Garnet Caton told public broadcaster CBC.

Let's see... The attacker was outnumbered 35 to 1. What's worse, a person capable of this murder, or 100% of the witnesses preferred flight over fight? I find it more horrendous that no one was willing to help.

What would you do with a crazy person wailing a knife and cutting off a head and eating the flesh???

The passengers did what was best at the time.

When I heard this story on the radio I thought the same thing. They interviewed a man who was sitting right across from the man being murdered and nowhere did he sound like he ever thought of assisting. I can't imagaine 35 Americans not making any move to stop someone from being butchered in front of their eyes. I also think that if just one of them had been armed a man's life could have been saved. Unbelievable, that no one tried to help.

Had this happened aboard a flight, I doubt this piece of, well you know what, would have made it off the plane alive. The whole plane would have tackled and tore that guy apart.

I was disgusted with the whole story. Im another one that wonders why all those passengers could not gang up on that piece of trash. Im not for guns in public places but I think Im changing my views somewhat. Im beginning to feel every pilot, conductor on trains, and the bus drivers on Greyhound should be armed. No one could even begin to imagine, what the pain must be like for that poor murdered kids family right now.

I was in shock when I read it, the way it happen just made me angry to the core, don't know what I would of done if I were a passenger, easy say to go and tackle him but when you're faced in that situation I think things would be different.
