When we vacation in Orange Beach we stay in a condo. And while it isn't a regular maid service like you get at a hotel, we know that the cleaning crew has a lot of work to do after we leave. I know that we also pay a cleaning fee, but that goes to the company and not directly to the employees who do the work. That's why we leave a tip.

Well...I usually do tip them, leaving some bills on top of my pillow.
And.....I don't want to have "funny" stuff done with my toothbrush.....LOL.
So, yeah....I do leave a "little something" there for them.

This is a good thread. I never thought about the fact that it may be a different housekeeper by the time you check out. I usually tip at the end of stay but will start to tip daily now.

If I stay for only a day, I don't usually tip unless my kids have really tore up the room. For longer periods I always tip, usually $5-10. (because I have kids that tear up the room)
