Default Best Vegas Hotels for Overall Experience

Hello,

I am thinking about checking out Vegas, but I'm not really into gambling. I know Vegas has some great hotels, restaurants and many other things.

I seem to remember hearing that most Vegas hotels have rather plain rooms, in order to encourage guests to get out and into the casinos. Of course, if your willing to pay $1000 per night, that will not be the case. I would never pay that much for a hotel room.

In you opinion, which hotels offer the best experience for the average person in regards to the quality of the rooms, amenities such as exercise rooms, pools and overall service?

We love Mandaly Bay--the rooms are quite large and the bathrooms....oh my! Very nice! If you go in the "off" season, or even during a weekday, the prices are reasonable--in the under $200 range--sometimes much less! Mandalay is very well located. You need to know that the properties are huge---about 1/2 mile squares, and it can be looooong walks from 1 hotel to another. With Mandalay, there's a tram that will take you to the Luxor, and Excalibur. Once you get there, it's a short walk to NY/NY, Tropicana and MGM Grand. At them MGM, there's a monorail that can take you all the way down the strip. Like I said, that's the best location (and they have a great pool area!!!) to get around to all the other properties!
We also like Venetian, but it's not as easy to get to some of the other hotels.
Go to lvol.com and check out that site....lots of info on Vegas!!!!!

Oh--and if this is your 1st trip, you can go the entire time without gambling a penny--there's soooooo much to see!
As far as the hotel gyms--most will charge for access there.....none but the really "off strip" hotels offer gym access for free.

hln917 is on a distinguished road
I was recently at the MGM, very nice rooms. I recommend you ask for a room near the elevators. The hallways can be very long.
