What are the significant trips you plan to take in 2009?

For me, I plan to visit Singapore/India/Maldives in Feb. and visit South America in Nov. 2009 (exact countries undecided at the moment).

Those are the plans thus far

I have a ton of travel plans for 2009, actually. It's my last year of undergraduate studies at college so I'm going to take advantage of some of the freedom I still have.

In January I will hopefully scout out grad schools in Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal.

From mid-January to the end of May I will be studying in Paris. I will plan a few trips around France, including Normandy, Provence, Alsace, and maybe Brittany -- but definitely the southwestern part of the country since I haven't been there before.

During Spring Break, I'll visit Italy and Switzerland. Maybe a bit of Germany as well. I also hope to visit Norway before I return home.

In June or August, my friends and I are planning a cross-country road trip across the US. We will leave from New Hampshire and head west, stopping at Niagara Falls, Chicago, the Badlands, Yellowstone, Seattle, etc. before heading down the Pacific Coast via San Francisco, LA, etc. We will then head east via Vegas, the Grand Canyon, the Rockies, across the plains to St. Louis and over the Appalachians to Virginia and D.C. We'll then head back up the coast via Philly and NYC.

Depending on where I end up going to grad school, I might have some travel opportunities during the fall as well.

If all goes well, 2009 should be one of the best years for me in a long time.

Our planned trip will be in March 2009, going back to Germany.
My mom will celebrate her 70. Birthday, and the family is having a huge party for her.

My husband and I are also planning for a weekend in the Bahamas, or other island....just for a quick getaway in 2009.

Thats too far away to know just yet. I know what would be preferrable, but in being realistic, we'll have to wait and see.

Smile Travel plans?? I love talking about travel plans!!

For Xmas 2008/NY 2009 we're going to our plot of land in the far north of NSW for a week for some peace and quiet. Then we're going to a country town called Tamworth at the end of January for the long weekend, and to catch the last part of the Tamworth Country Music festival...had a blast there last year, any country music fan visiting should check it out.
THEN, in February, all aboard for New Orleans!! For a month...I get all wibbly just thinking about it!

In February, I am planning a week long south Florida/Bahamas cruise vacation. That's a great time of the year to escape from the cold!
