Charlotte (CLT) is pretty easy to navigate. I like the rocking chairs in the main area.
ATL is enormous, but surprisingly easy to navigate, and fast to go between terminals. Love their transport system.
Speaking of transport systems, IAD (Dulles) is the worst with their stinking people movers. I lived near that airport for 10 years, always hated it.
Logan (BOS) is also up there on my worst list. Run down, smells odd, never had a flight leave anywhere close to on time.

Dulles is awful! Hard to get around, hard to park, it's just icky.

I've only been to a few us airports. Las Vegas, Seattle, Bellingham, and Phoenix. I liked Phoenix and Las vegas. Seattle was cold and unfriendly. Bellingham is tiny and nice but very very small.

Proximity to city and ease to get to via public transportation: BOS
Architecturally interesting: DEN
Best connecting airport: CVG (Cinncinnati)
Worst connecting airport: ORD (O'Hare) and ATL tied.

ChunkyMonkey - funny story... I would have thought that about Atlanta too, myself, until our last trip. We had 45 minutes between our connecting flights (to an international destination) after our initial flight to Atlanta was delayed.
It took us 15 minutes total, once we got off the plane, to get from our terminal A gate to I think it was the E terminal?
Those trains come along so often, and so smoothly, that it was amazing. We were freaking out on our flight into Charlotte and not one, but 2 flight attendants went out of their way to say, "It's Atlanta, you'll have no trouble making your connection..."
Did you have a really bad experience once?
As for O'Hare, I DO recall that taking forever to connect through.

I'm very spoiled with OIA(MCO)Orlando being my home airport. It's very easy to navigate.
I had not problems with Seattle, O'hare, Atlanta or Houston.
St Louis has to be my least favorite.

Have not had any bad experiences in an airport, but then I rarely fly! Do like PDX (Portland) as it seems very organized and clean, nice shops too.

A few which reminded me of something-
Vegas- Always delayed and always makes me annoyed
Denver- Enjoy the setup, but flying over it always reminds me of a swastika...strange
Charlotte- Love the rockers
St. Louis- Wow that airport really went downhill in the past 10 years or so...nothing really even edible
Seattle- Love the views flying in
Reno/Tahoe- Ditto
