Default Hello, London...

So yeah, I'll be going to London for 2 weeks in January. It's for a college winter session program where I'll be visiting a lot media and journalism places like BBC and the Financial Times. But outside of those, I don't really have much plans.

So far my must-go destinations are:
The British Museum
Westminster Abbey
and a few famous churches

What are some of the other good places in London that are worth visiting?

A few suggestions:

Speaker's Corner (Hyde Park) on Sunday afternoons
Democracy in action. People get up on their soapbox and speak their minds.
Very entertaining.

Shakespeare's Globe Theater

The Hop On Hop Off Bus tours are very convenient and well worth the price. They are good for giving you an overview of what you might like to see more in depth, and what is fine merely seeing from your cozy bus seat.

The Cabinet War Rooms
It is an underground bunker in Whitehall that Churchill used during WW2. They still have the old transatlantic telegraph machine that was used by Churchill to chit chat with Roosevelt
It's just behind Downing Street off Whitehall or you can get to it through St James Park(The Queen's front Garden)

Sir John Soanes Museum. The Soanes is pretty cool because it was a man's home, it has hidden panels and an incredible collection of artifacts, and it is not as overwhelming as some London museums.

I'm not big on modern art, but I was very impressed with the Tate Modern.
I was enthralled with the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Both are free.

Big Ben & Parliament buildings are right near to Westminster Abbey. Also, if you get a chance, it is nice to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, but you had better plan on getting there very, very early as it is pretty much always packed. I did a tour of the Tower Bridge, which was interesting and the views from the top were amazing.

If you into mesums, also the mesum of london is very interesting. Then their also the Natural history mesum, the Victoria and Albert Mesuem and the Science Mesuem in the south Kensington Area. Kew Gardens, Windsor Caslte, Hampton Court Palace, st pauls cathederal, Jack the ripper walks, The tate morden, so many options! Best if you buy a book and decide what you want to see.
