I second Kauai, it's gorgeous and quiet. You can get one of those secluded private hotel rooms/beach houses and it's very romantic Not a lot of tourists either (they're all on Oahu!)

Kauai, or the Big Island, or the British Virgin Islands.
There have been some really good airfares to Paris.
Now that would be romantic and sophisticated.
They even have a beach in late July and August.

Barbados has nice beaches, and many nice hotels. I also like St Martin which is nice. I stayed at the coral reef in Barbados, but am not sure
about how it is now. I do think if you google the hotels where you want to go people will give reviews of them. Have you thought about Charleston
and the areas near the beach. You can really walk alot in Charleston with lots to do, and see.

We go on a beach vacation every year for our anniversary.

I always recommend Hawaii. Maui is tops!

This year we are going to Little Dix in the British Virgin Islands.

Look up Rosewood Little Dix on google. It seems very romantic and secluded.

The one problem most people have, is leaving kids, and the money factor, and jobs, vs time off?
Not evey ones does have time, or money, to do all this! Also, you always do not need this on the same day to celebrate love, or Valentine Day to go out! A real surprise from the heart, is what it is all
really about. Romance, should be each day, not a special. Even with the kids, a little extra, does not always mean mega money.

My wife and I traveled a lot. The worst places gave us memories that we will laugh about forever. What could be more romantic than that? Just buy plane tickets to some wierd place, hold hands, and let the romance find you.
