There are some low-cost airlines now.
Try FlyGlobeSpan. They fly from Glasgow to Orlando. (actually, they fly to nearby Sanford.)
My kid flew with them and said everything was fine. Check out their website and see if something they have works for you.

http://www.flyglobespan.com/

There is also Condor Airlines. We flew from Orlando to Frankfurt in the middle of summer for rather cheap airfare.

http://www12.condor.com/tcf-eu/index.jsp

But if you are trying to get all the way from England to LA, you might have to look for deals: Airfarewatchdog is a good one to check. Sometimes deals will turn up on somewhat obscure airlines, like Air India or Kuwait Airlines.

Hi Rachx90, it might be worth while trying this website www.kayak.co.uk or you could try www.vacationstogo.com, i have recently just bought tickets to Evansville from LHr for a really good price for me to travel in the height of summer. Worthwhile having a look.

Good luck!

BA sometimes has some good deals, especially during shoulder season. You have to book right when you see it.
I've been able to take advantage of several Denver>London deals.
The inaugural year of BA's Denver to London route, I took a March trip for $200-something round trip after taxes.

what are your views of this?
Rach prices for airfares to the most popular routes are very cheap at the moment. New york for £250. Miami, Orlando, LA, Las Vegas and Chicargo are good as well. Obviously there's a number of other places you can fly too in the US but the less popular routes will be more!

Wow! I can't believe how inexpensive it is to fly on flyglobespan.com. Has anyone else used their airlines?
