Just out of curiosity, what is considered a "kid"? Up to what age?

The first thing I'd like to see, which I think would take care of a lot of the issues, would be to require all children over 6 months to have their own seat. I don't mind a child crying when he has his own seat--most of us have been there ourselves. I DO mind when a nearly 2 year old is crying, having a fit, squirming around, etc. basically ON me b/c he's (technically anyway) on his mother's lap.

Once a kid can crawl, they should have their own seat.

I think this is a great idea. I behaved when I was a child on plane; if parents can't control their kids they should be separated from the general (high paying) public.

I sat next to a man reading penthouse on a plane once. I would have changed a stranger's baby if I could have moved. It was DISGUSTING.

That wouldn't have annoyed me as much as a fidgety, crying kid because at least reading smut is silent I hope you complained, though, if it annoyed you.

Each side would be glassed in. I also hate smoking...used to suck flying coach internationally when the back of the plan was full of smokers. 8-14 hours in an ashtry. Ugh

I'd be surprised if they got away with child-free zones on planes. Here in Australia, we had a woman complain about a small resort that advertised adult-only accommodation. Not that she wanted to stay there with her child, she just claimed it was discriminatory and made her feel bad for her child. And that was enough for whatever kangaroo court in charge of those sorts of complaints. The resort had to stop that advertising and would be expected to take people with kids. It's not set up for kids, not child-safe, focused on romantic getaways, but would be expected to be child-friendly in future. So if you're a couple with kids that wants a weekend away, without your kids or other people's, too bad. We're supposed to be more concerned with over-sensitive busybodies and that they don't "feel bad".
