I know a few people who have never left the island of Kauai (where I live) and many more who have never left the state. It is small town living and many people can't afford it. Also, many people who have left HI for a trip, have gone only to vegas and nowhere else. This is much more common on the neighbor islands versus those living on Oahu.

Honesty it's kind of hard for me to imagine life without traveling. I guess I just love it so much...

I don't know anyone who hasn't left their state. The world seems to be getting more homogenous, so I'm getting less interested in traveling far. My last big trip I went to Switzerland, to find out that it's very much like my state, all the way down to Brangelina featured in the magazines and "Meet the Fockers" playing at a coffee shop. I mostly just want to travel within the western US these days.

I've met a number of people who haven't left their town much. Some would have liked to move but didnt feel they had skills or an opportunity. Others I met (in Texas) felt there was no reason to leave as they liked the current setting. I think its strange not to have some curiousity about travel...like seeing things...the Grand Canyon or Panama Canal
