I dont really care, but i prefer the aisle because im 6'8'' and it at least allows me to get one leg stretched out. Of course the negative of that is i routinely get the drink cart rammed into my knee.
But if I can score an upgrade I will take a window in first class - if its daytime ir I can somehow enjoy the view. One of my coolest memories was flying from Philly to LA on a July 4 evening and watching firworks shows from above from coast to coast. Vegas was especailly cool watching the big show over the strip!
I flew at 8, 11, 14 and 16, window seats were fine with me and i loved the view back in the day
Since i developed a problem with heights for about the past 15 years and first got on a flight again in 2008 (last one was at 16 in 78) i prefer an aisle seat and if i get a window seat i close the shade 90% and keep my eyes glued to what i'm reading during take off so i don't see any height. I don't want any reminders of the American Airlines 191 and 587
but 20 minutes prior to landing i have no problem enjoying the view, even when the fuselage is rolling and dipping a bit. I love trying to figure out where we are.
Short flight I'll take the window because it is nice to look out.
Long flights, over the Atlantic for example, I'm starting to like the aisle seats more. I can't sleep on a plane so it's nice being able to get up and walk around, or stretch a leg into the aisle.
I like the aisle seat, mid section of plane. We always travel with kids so the aisle is perfect. The mid section feels the most stable. We have been in the first row behind first class the mid section over the wings and the last row next to the bathrooms. First class also, but prefer not to pay the extra. The last row was the worst on take off, it felt like we were going to be thrown out of our seats also, there are too many people hovering around waiting to use the bathrooms and it smell bad back there.
Window seat for me. I never go to the bathroom on a plane, my other half does so it makes sense. That way I never have to be disturbed.
