I went to Nassau and stayed in Atlantis, although my trip was paid for by pokerstars. every meal costed 50+ dollars per person, unless you want to get hamburgers outside. If you dont mind the price, its a really nice and relaxing place to be. I would never have been able to afford it if I had to even buy one meal for myself. Also drinks are 15+

We went last year - there are some condos at the back side of the resort with kitchens. I think it was a 2BR time-share with a full kitchen that my friend rented through VRBO. We bought all our groceries and made breakfast/dinner every night. Brought a cooler on wheels with drinks and sandwiches for lunch at the pools near the beach. The condos were a bit dated but comfy. Overlooked the marina with multi-million dollar yachts berthed. Only downside was the hike to the resort pools and beach.

The pools were great and had a lot of slides and such for older kids. Kids had to be 48" tall for most of the slides there, so younger kids would probably not qualify. I can't wait until my son is 48" tall, we will be going back.
