I'm hearing that within the next year or so, there will be additional security measures at FBO's as well.

That has been stalled. And besides, that was for the corporate world. Aircraft weighing in over 12,500 pounds.
My Cessna 310 weighs considerably less.
I am also exploring the feasibility of putting in a runway on my property along with building a hanger for my plane. There are no zoning issues, just cost.

GA as an industry is going to continue to die in America (just look to Europe as an example). Taxes and fuel cost increases, along with soaring insurance costs, will see to that. The TSA will just be the straw that breaks the camels back.

What the TSA doesn't realize is that liquids are unfortunately a normal part of traveling. People need shaving cream, lotion, etc. There's no way to get around that at all, and giving people grief over it isn't going to improve the situation.
If the airlines were really smart, they would launch their own service to separately have your stuff delivered to your destination WITHOUT TSA CHECKS. Basically, avoid the passenger plane and use a smaller, pilot-only deal to transport the luggage separately where there is minimal impact to human life. I know you can UPS or FedEx your stuff to your destination but that's too iffy.
I don't fly now because (A) the planes are not comfortable and (B) there are way too many planes going down these days.

Generally, I find the average TSA agents to be just fine. I think TSA as an organization is totally screwed up and especially that database of theirs that just grows and grows and that you can never ever get off.
Most amusing is TSA at the small airports. At Flagstaff, for example, we had 8 TSA and one cop for about 20 passengers. Needless to say, every bag went back for another check. At Kalispell, they had never seen an NY drivers license before (I was living in NY at the time). That caused all sorts of checks and double checks.

My experience with TSA has been fine. At Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, one of the largest airports in the country, I find the TSA agents to be efficient. In defense of the TSA, they have a job to do. At the larger airports they deal with thousands of passengers a day and can't afford to smile and warmly greet everyone passing through the checkpoints. Just because you aren't carrying guns and other weapons doesn't mean that others aren't. There are plenty of lethal biological weapons that can be disguised in the form of trace amounts of liquids and gels. Better safe than sorry.

As long as user-fee legislation is defeated, GA will do OK.

Well how is this for you ? I no longer wear my insulin pump while flying instead I prefer to use daily multiple injections . the reason you ask is because I was told to remove it before I got checked out by security , they had the nerve to send a female security guard into the restroom with me , to watch me remove it .. I was peed to say the least and they told me that it was just security reasons . I was also asked to provide my prescription for the insulin and supplies which i did not have at the time with me seeing as I had never been asked for that before . well needless to say by the time they had me cleared and ready to go I had missed two connecting flights and I just said s*rew it and I went home missing a family reunion so needless to say I never wear the pump anymore and now carry it all insulin , syringes and all in a see through bag . I was made to feel like a common criminal or a terrorist take your pick . I complained enough with the airline and their reply was a free round trip ticket . Well I was so mad I told them what they could do with their free round trip ticket . LOL !!! This only one of the many reasons I dont fly anymore .

LOL, that is a question of "when", not "if". It's coming.

From what i saw they didnt end up doing anything but it made me feel like i was in trouble.

If it weren't for 9/11 and other terrorism incidents, these people wouldn't have a job. Now they have one and for once in their lives, they've been given the delicious opportunity to have some power over other people's lives.
They don't realize, when they abuse their powers, they're lessening the security of their security jobs as fewer people are willing to face the harrassment and fly only when they have to.
