Default What's there to do in Newport, RI?
My dh wants to go to Newport for the weekend in the next couple of weeks. What else is there to do there besides visit mansions?

Also, please recommend some good b-n-b's/hotels/eateries.

Downtown-like area on the water. Lots of shops, places to eat and some nightlife. Take a look at Rhode Island forums. I have only stayed at chain hotels...

Ditto. That was the best part of the afternoon I spent in Newport in 2005.

In the middle of town, there is a great visitor center that sponsors any number of walks through the town.
