My vote goes for 40 between Amarillo, TX and Albuquerque, NM. I used to travel this stretch on Greyhound all the time. At one point (who the heck knows exactly where) there is absolutely NOTHING but sage brush and a few mountains in the distance--no wild life, no trees, no buildings, absolutely NOTHING!
Taking Rte 65 North from Louisville to I90 near chicago is brutal. Its five hours of nothing but flat Indiana. Very, very boring drive and the 55 mph in the southern part of the state doesnt help either
I'm sure there is worse....but I simply HATE having to drive I-75 between the Orlando/Daytona area and Jacksonville. It is a trip I make at least once a month and there is absolutely NOTHING interesting to look at for the whole stretch.
I don't think any interstate in the US is as boring as 401 from Toronto to Detroit.
Make that the 401 from the Quebec border to Detroit, on the Quebec side its called the 20 and stays just as boring all the way to Quebec City. About 1200 kilometers of the most mind numbingly boring road ever to be paved, only break in the monotony is the traffic chaos in Montreal and Toronto
Surprisingly to me, I found I-90 thru South Dakota to be quite scenic for what it is. Certainly more interesting than I-70 thru Kansas or I-80 thru Nebraska.
Let me add this: any road in Nevada....that isn't near Lake Tahoe.
