I agree (generally) and the more difficult trips are often the most memorable.
Stealth, I don't know what I was thinking with my original response to your suggestion... I was at a Nuremberg market in cold weather and it was crappy. It was obviously not the Christmas Market.

I see an allergist just off of the square by the Rathaus and stopped by the market tonight. It was wonderbar. I'm glad I went.

Last weekend I hit the markets in Berlin and Leipzig.
Off to Nabburg this weekend.
I'm traveling to either Belgium or the Netherlands the next weekend.
The one after is for Prague and Regensburg and Nuremberg again with friends. Doesn't look like I'll make Dresden this year.

I just wanted to let you know that I had an apparent brain fart and the Nuremberg market is delightful.

Croatia! It is just now starting to be seen as a major tourist center, but there are still areas that are hidden treasures with turquoise sea and great people.
