Default How often do you travel?

How often do you travel?

(Do not include short-distance. For example, someone living in New Jersey and visiting New York City for a day or two - that's not traveling obviosly. But for example someone from NJ traveling to Florida, California or Europe, that's definetely travel!)

There's no option for more than twice a year? My husband and I travel (a week or longer-up to one month) about 4 times a year. We are retired.

I'm going to count short distances for myself because I'm an American living in England so even short trips are very exciting for me. It's not like I grew up in England and have seen it all - as an American who has only been living in England for 3 years, I still find the visits to more local areas as foreign as I would if I did not live here - especially trips to Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

I still count trips to Ireland or England as 'foreign'. And I feel like a tourist when I visit areas of Scotland I've never been to.

Work has me on the road 300+ days a year. In the past 14 weeks I have only been home 36 hours. Non-work related travel is another story. That works out to nada, zip, zero over the past 3 years.

I won't count my work travel. Of course, with my job I do that almost constantly. But when I am "off" I am usually traveling for fun. I just returned from a one month trip to South Pacific, Australia, Thailand and Japan. Leaving Monday for Egypt and then London for a week. I am lucky to have flight benefits on almost all airlines so price of a ticket is more or less eliminated. It is a wonderful way to live and to see this great big world.

I used to go on trips about 2 times a year (once every 6-8 months), but it's too expensive now. So, I go about 1 time a year.

The travel is mostly to my mother's house in Texas or to my friends in Dallas (Barbara and Glen). But 1 time every 3-5 years I go to Florida during the summer (around May or June mostly).

The poll is flawed. Change the poll to add 2 or 3 more lines above the couple times a year category. Come one, this is a mobile society, and this is the travel forum.

Also how do you define travel? To the next city? Out of state? Out of the country?
