Euro's and Europe{aka amsterdam} will rip you off!!

Just ask this Canadian that had a son and daughter travel for 1 week. Watch your baggage!! Water is 7 euros??? what?? Beer is cheaper than water? I don' t get it. It"s amazing the cost to visit the UK. If you are going to go, check everything online.

It's because the Dollar isn't worth crap anymore. And by the way, the UK does not use Euros, they still use the Pound.

Ed, when we were in Sweden/Norway and Finland, there where sections (towns, provinces) that used the Euros! Was a bit of a pain as we had to carry both currencies. Stores and establishments had signs next to their entrances stating which they accepted! Then there were the signs denouncing Euros!!

I talking about just UK, (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland). These don't use the Euro.
But yeah, there are still a lot of people that don't like the whole Euro thing, they would like their own money back. Just like England has kept the Pound and not use the Euro, others would like to do the same.

Amsterdam get's a lot of tourists. You have to expect high prices. As a foreigner I believe you can shop at duty free places and get tax refunds? In Stockholm you can.

Has nothing to do with Alaska.

Maybe your kids lied to you about the price of water because they spent all their money on weed.

First off... AMSTERDAM IS A CITY, NOT A WHOLE CONTINENT!

If people in the NORTH AMERICA are going to keep calling cities/countries in Europe for Europe, then anything in North America (a.k.a. USA, Canada, Mexico, New York, Vancover, Chicago, Anchorage, Bethel... whatever) should never be more specified than "North America".

Second - 19 out of 49 countries in Europe use the Euro. I hardly think that makes it ok to call all of "Europe" expensive. You only talk about Amsterdam. That's one city.

Third... What 2 currencies? If you visit Sweden and Norway and Finland, you need 3 currencies: Swedish krona, Norweigan krona and Euro.
If you visit different countries, why are people constantly so puzzled by having to use different currencies? Mexico, USA nor Canada (oh, sorry - North America) don't use the same currency. So why would the rest of the world do that?

(And it's not towns/provinces that may accept Euros - it varies from store to store, nothing else.)
