Okay, I need some suggestions.... I am looking for somewhere to run away to over Christmas. I am off work 12/24 to 12/29 but really only want to go for 2 nights, then have a couple of down days for myself. I live in Charlotte, and I will be by myself. I have about $ 750 -$ 1000 to spend, but don't have to spend it all...Do not want to go to Atlanta, been there (lived there) done that.

Driving is fine or fly, which ever.

Suggestions?

Guess I'm looking for somewhere to relax, play tourist, maybe walk the beach, get a massage and just get away from the office and my PITA family. Maybe somewhere with no snow, moderate temperatures. I'm not into golf or tennis, but do like to walk, museums, tourist attractions.

I'm looking for any suggestions, thinking I'd like to go somewhere different than Hilton Head, Savannah areas.

Does that help?

Key West Florida! Go to Hemingway's House and see the 6-toed cats, Mel Fisher underwater salvage museum, take a ferry to Ft. Jefferson, have your pic taken next to the Most Southern Point buoy, check out the street performers on Mallory Square just before sundown then stay to watch and AMAZING sunset! Then hit the bars doing the "Duvall Crawl". Check out the "ladies" at the drag show. Lounge on the most Southern Beach. Avoid Margaritaville. Take the tram ride around town for history. Go on a walking ghost tour. Eat conch. Eat at BO's Fish Wagon for great fried fish. People watch. Take a sunset cruise on a sailboat or pirate boat.
Can I come with??!!!

How about St Augustine Fl?

Jacksonville, Fl is also a well kept secret. Beautiful beaches and night life not far way if you so choose.

Temps are iffy that time of year you might be warn you might be cold.

How about Washington D.C.?

If not, how about the Smoky Mountains or Richmond, VA?
