Around christmas time. Any ideas? not so concerned about weather I will keep an eye on it a week before, anything else I should worry about in terms of weather?

I am traveling on a budget, I have booked a motel. It's my first time driving this much, I got one more driver with me. Anything I should look out for? best driving hours? best routes? places to stop by like New Orleans I heard is a pretty good historic city?

what would I do in Miami area that doesn't cost much during Christmas and new year's time? I am a male in the early thirties.

Thanks for anyone who reads and responds.

I also have another thing to mention. I am not a Christian but I still like to say Merry Christmas because that's what the occasion is. Why do people say happy holidays, you don't have to belong to the religion to wish the festival wishes the way they are supposed to be? Am I missing something here?
