Don't believe it any more. Isn't it said that X-ray, CT scan, mammograms... are controlled well enough not to pose any health risks (they always use the saying "you get more radiation from the sun, flight, blah blah...")? Yet the reality proves the contrary. Many cancers resulted from such.

I think cell phones pose a much higher risk. Now those studies are conclusive and show extensive brain damage from extensive cell phone use. I don't see people putting those down. In fact, more and more are purchasing them for their 9 year olds. Start em early! Once these children are in their 40s, we will see the true effects cell phones have on the brain. They are modern day lab rats!

Sort of reminds me when the chemical companies said that Agent Orange was not dangerous and would only harm plants!!!!
Heck, drug companies test their products for years, do test studies, submit to the F.D.A. for approval, get published, do peer review, than put medications on the market that harm or even kill patients, only have to withdraw the medications from the market.

In that case, I hope you're not buying "food" from the supermarkets since it's not really food, but food products and not safe to eat despite what the manufacturers tell you, have never received a vaccination in your life since every single one of them poses risks and are not on any medications. Everything we do poses risks, cell phones probably being the most harmful and most widely used. It's up to us which risks we take, and given that the average traveler goes on a plane once or twice a year, at best, vs yapping on a cell phone for hours a week, I think the cell phone and HFCS you consume in your daily life is the bigger risk factor here and more likely to contribute to an untimely death.

The point is, whether or not being X-ray'd at the airport is not "up to us". It's an imposed risk. Many flights are necessary. Suppose your loved one is gravely ill in another country? Or your work requires you to travel a lot? Airfares are expensive and only the very wealthy decide whether to make a trip on a whim.
Choice of whether to fly should not equal to choice of whether to be scanned by X-ray. That is an invasive scanning. I would have no problem with ultrasound scanning.
Cell phones are different. You have more choices on that.
Will the airport scanner tell me if they found a tumor/growth in my abdomen during the security scan?
