I recently flew while in a bootcast. Of course they had to check it!!! I'd be worried if they didn't! I treated them with respect and in return I was treated respectfully and quickly.

I've never been delayed because of TSA. I've been delayed by other passengers ignorance or ego trips.

Unfortunately I've been treated very, VERY rudely by TSA when I did NOTHING to them to deserve that type of treatment. For example I had my wallet out to get a cup of coffee at teh Starbucks just past security and the TSA agent wouldn't let me pass until i had put it in my bag because it would ahve constituted three carry-on's. That was simply an abuse of power--to begin with the TSA has ZERO say as to how many carry-on's we are allowed.

Of course, if you are an 8-year old boy scout with a dodgy name like Mikey, you're just going to have to deal with being stopped and searched every time you go thro Security: Meet the 8-year-old on a TSA watch list - Allison Kilkenny - Unreported - True/Slant. And quit whining about it.

Unless a nifty telepotation device is invented, most people will continue to fly. A small percentage of Americans who choose the train, bus, or car instead, will not have an impact.

However, you may keep complaining...it's what we do best.

Let me know when I can take Amtrak to Europe, and I will be right there supporting you. Until then, I accept the scanning, searching, 4 hour waits and all. I pay a cheap price to fly anywhere in the world, where this was not possible in the not so distant past. I may be annoyed, but I am still happy I can travel.

I agree. I get 3 weeks of vacation a year and usually only take 1 week at a time. If I'm going someplace, more than likely I'm flying because I don't want to spend half my vacation on a bus, train, or even in my own car. The American society is a fast-paced society that wants things now, not later so the majority of us will continue to fly.

***Sigh...No disrespect, (this isn't about *you* per se; more so toward ^the^ statement and the stance it conveys) but are you serious? THIS is your retort about being increasingly demoted as a citizen? Your most expediate means of travel is now your least enjoyable and loathed.*** ZOMBIES!
__My mission in this post is to shake you all up; to get you to come OUT of your mental boxes you hide and retreat in. The place where you can state anything you want, no matter how ridiculous. But the longer you continue to stay inside *your* box; the rest of the world continues to evolve. The powers at be continue to strip away your rights in the name of "national security..." What security? Being scared to fly and travel, so you'll give up your own bio-metric identity, in order to be tracked, traced and PROFILED by nefarious agencies at hand? NOT in my COUNTRY I say!

__I never said NOT to fly; I implied SPEAKING OUT against authoritarian control. There's simply no need for these machines... and considering that both of these supposed "bombers," have dubious ties to the government; yeah um a GOVERNMENT AGENT "sharp-dressed man" escorted the alleged bomber, (Umar Farouk Abulutallab) on to the plane WITHOUT A PASSPORT NOR ID. Also while being FILMED by another unnamed passenger; sounds like a military "practice" drill gone awry.

Can any of you account for this? "Terrorism" is a farce, there's no terrorism as you may assume it is. It's a group of agents and patsies. Call me a nut, but I've got more evidence and links proving my assertions than the clap-trap, cliche of "you're just a conspiracy nut..." RIIiiiight keep yapping people, b/c I CAN prove my statements. To my dissenters; your emotional outbursts and charlatanry are laughable! Keep denying reality and the endless historical connections to this "conspiratorial" cabal; YOU and your children will stay shackled and broken like the serfs you mentally are... FREE yourselves with education and open-mindedness.

"Complaining" does NOT innately connote negativity; a complaint is an expression of discontent. Not merely a few ninnyish citizens whining (that's a true negative connotation) about being personally invaded and belittled in public... and there-in lies the major problem with a supposed Democratic-Republic; the simpletons often stifle the educated (personally, not systematically) from the free pursuit of NON-MALICIOUS; life, liberty and personal choice.

In other words; dumb arse people with invalid/uneducated opinions vote in the same manner. Haha this is hilarious; if I was much more evil and sociopath minded; I too would corral all of you naves up in a pin (society), market useless junk (NFL, NBA, NHL etc.) to you and incrementally strip you of your rights and freedoms; while lining my fat, deep pockets haha... Oh wait, there ARE such people doing exactly that to US ALL... Unfortunately most of YOU allow it with your uninformed voting of these charlatans in office... year after year:

E.g.,

"Ooooh the Democrats suck! Look what they've done!"
Right-hand response: We Republicans will fix this; so vote us in next term...

"Gosh DARN IT! The Republicans just screwed us with more war wtf?!"
Left-hand response: Hey there on-the-fence Republican; us Demo's would NEVER allow this to happen; vote us in office next time!

And the cycle of staged, 2 "party-" puppetry continues—decade after decade; neither side accomplishing ANYTHING remotely related to "freedom." Haha—bovines—the joke IS about you! The elite laugh and mock us all for falling for the tricks and ploys they present right in front of your eyes like a stupid magic trick... don't listen to the magician, nor follow where he/she instructs you. The trick is in the slight of hand and following orders as given. DAMN—so diabolical and ingenious!

The typical American citizen is suffering from pure Learned-Helplessness: as a technical term in animal psychology and related human psychology, means a condition of a human being or an animal in which it has learned to behave helplessly, even when the opportunity is restored for it to help itself by avoiding an unpleasant or harmful circumstance to which it has been subjected.

How many of you will stay cowering in fear of a shadowy figure; always out to get you; to blow you up? You have MORE chance statistically, which is FACT, of dying in a auto related accident; a lightening storm; a shooting; a robbery; a mugging... than your plane ride. This is pure madness! I wish I was evil-minded and sociopathic; I'd be SUPER rich playing the public pawns against one another... Damn you(!)—morals and values!

I won't terrorize the OP's thread anymore; subscription removed for your enjoyment

Yawn...

Would you accept that level of delay and disruption if your job involved flying 1-2 times per week. Whilst we're on topic, can you explain the link you made above with the cost of a ticket and the security delays you see? Are you serioulsy suggesting that if we all collectively paid more for a ticket that security would somehow be better? Is there an option to pay more to reduce delays without resorting to private transport? Don't you see the massive mission creep the DHS is on right now?
I am not happy that I cannot travel with without major disruption to my schedule to accomodate what has become the most expensive theatrical performance in the world. If we truly want to make a difference we should start OUTSIDE the US and look at people coming here. Not harrasing citizens going about their lives....

Learned-Helplessness; cowards is what your children will degree upon you when they learn how you sat around watching TV and sports Vs taking action and holding your elected (sometimes) officials to their word...

Ever notice there's never a time-line boldly stating WHEN your rights will be returned to you? Nope they'll just keep tapping your phones, and soon to be interception of ALL your emails, txts, web traffic etc... when the Senate version of the CYBER-SECURITIES-ACT passes and shifts FULL control of the Internet over to the government... Unbelievable... Keep laughing, it won't aid you in the end... ask the Jews, Germans, Native Americans, Mexicans, Polish, Chechnians, Russians and many more; all denying reality until a mass grave spelled it out when it was TOO LATE... Damn the plebs! Ruining it for us all...

F-U V12V12! Ya say! Fug all this thinking stuff! It's...PARTY TIME! Time to watch more TV, eat fattening & poison "food," and get pissed the Raiders lost to the Pats Vs losing your own damn freedoms afforded to you by your RELATIVES who FOUGHT and DIED to give YOU; the spoiled grandchildren, the rights to a decent life... Your mentality is a disgrace to your surnames... HAaaaaa HAaaa HAAAAAA!
Let me guess...you just found out who Alex Jones is, and now feel the need to regurgitate your profit's word into your own sermon.

Yes, you know sooo much more than me, oh great one.

Are you seriously putting words in my mouth? I am not complaining about security, you are. Sure it doesn't work, and it's a pain in the arse, but what are you going to do about it? You don't want to fly twice a week, find a new job. I'm sure there is a better, more efficient security procedure, but do you really think it will be implemented here? Not anytime soon.

Here is my simple version: Life is a bitc*!

Life is too short to spend your days worrying about how the government is plotting to herd you into a FEMA camp (v12v12), and crying about long lines.

Sometimes, people fail to realize how good they have it in the US.

Naw, I think I'll continue to use air most of the time while I'm working. It's a "time thing". But I'm seriously thinking about using Amtrak to trek across the border to California once in awhile. It takes a long time but it's a good opportunity to relax a spell.

When I retire I may use it most of the time. But Amtrak can be damn expensive for long commutes. And the rooms are spendy.

I do worry about Amtrak where security is concerned. Why wouldn't terrorists redirect their focus on trains? But we can't let them make us run and cower.

Also, I think planes are better for those with certain health issues. If someone has a heart-attack on a plane, chances are they can land at the nearest airport (unless you're over water). Trains tend to route through the middle of nowhere.
