Based on fares alone. No it hasn't. But add in the fees (& hidden ones), better/shorter routes and wait times then these have added a extra level of aggravation and dollar amount that make you not want to travel. I spend much more time researching flights now (look at the time of this post).

If anyone wants to travel to Hawaii or Alaska it is great bang for your buck. If you have the means then it is way cheaper at this point in time. Saw on Trip Advisor alert you can now purchase a ticket Seattle to Kona/Hilo Hawaii for $352 round trip. Vacation Rentals you call in person and they will lower their places almost 50%. Cruises to Alaska last summer were starting off at $350...

Not really, not yet--but we have always been careful, we have always researched before a trip.
I used to anticipate the travel part of a trip with happy excitement, now it's more like apprehension and/or cautious optimism.
I agree with Neil about the routes and such: There are fewer flights now, and those flights are usually crowded. You have to study each itinerary in order to get the better route, and value for your money.
Saving $75-$100 isn't necessarily worth it if you end up with two stops or a lo-ong layover IMHO.

Yes. I don't know if I will be able to have a full time job after June (I am a grad student and work part time while interning full time it's insane), so I am saving up money just in case I don't have a job right away. It is hard because I typically travel for fun every winter and every summer. This time I haven't done that. I did go for a few days somewhere in Oct, but it was for relocation scouting purposes. I would love to go to Playa Del Carmen for 4 or 5 nights in March, but I think it is smarter that I save the money.

Personally, I am traveling MORE these days.

Since business is off everywhere, it is a LOT EASIER to actually take vacation than it was three years ago.

Also, since air fares and hotel rates are down so much (especially if you use discounters like Priceline and Hotwire on the hotels), it is hard to pass up the opportunity to travel as much as I want.

Mine hasn't changed much...if any.

I've always been a budget traveler.
Like for instance...we're taking a cruise to Alaska in June. It's for our anniversay so we didn't scrimp on the cruise alone but are only booking one excursion for DH in one port and renting a car to go do as we please in another. That rental car might be costing me $113.00 but if I were to take the excursion that catch my eye, it would have been $250.00 or more.
If I would have booked air fare thru the cruise line it was $612.00 pp. I already have that down to 463.00 pp.
So I'm scrimping where I can.
It all adds up.

Yes, the economy has changed my travel habits. I know that since I don't have a paid job yet, vacations get expensive. So I'm trying to be careful before I take a trip somewhere.

For me, personal travel is down a little. However work related travel is way up.
