Hello its the same person who posted the thread My first trip to the U.S weeks ago. ive recently changed my username. Ive been viewing the responses to my thread and im very surprised at the amount of advice. i would like thank everybody who has responded. My trip to america is coming soon. I still am planning on visiting the nine cites i mentioned in my prevoius thread.( New York, Washington dc, Miami, New orleans, Los Angels, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Boston) im aslo adding a tenth place. The Walt disney world resort in florida. I also would like to explain why im going to only these places as it seems that there was some confusion as to why im going to these places. When i first posted the My first trip to america thread I was planning my trip and had know idea where to go and after careful research i decided to foucus my trip on cites. Then i decided to go to the nine cites I mention above and on the previous thread. The reason im going only to cities is because thats what intrests me about America. The culture of its biggest cites. Rual areas do not intrest me they never have. Ive been to to largest cites in the United Kingdom and ive alyways wondered what life was like in American cites. These cites I plan on visiting are place that ive seen in movies and tv shows through out my life. I do realize that im leaving out alot of nice destinations and i realize that im not going to see all of the U.S but thats not the goal of my trip. As mentioned above im aslo going to go to The Walt disney world resort in florida. Im going there after spending a few days in Miami. if anyone could give more infomation on that particular place it would be lovley. Again I would like to thank everyone for giving me advice about this big trip im preparing to take.

For Disney World, your best bet is to stay either on Disney property or as close as you can. Once on Disney property you can just use their bus/monorail system to get around and not worry about driving. They have multiple resorts owned by Disney, and then near the Marketplace/Downtown Disney there's also other chain hotels like a Best Western. Other hotels in the area will have buses to Disney and Universal Studios, but it's often a "take you in the morning, pick you up at night" sort of deal, so you wouldn't be able to go back to your hotel for a break during the day. Depending on the weather (namely, the heat), this can make for a very exhausting day.

Also, I don't know if they sell it over there, but there's a book called "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" that's published every year. That thing is golden. It has good advice on attractions, shows, and when to see each. I've found that if you follow their touring plans for the parks you really do cut down on waiting times.

Deb's Unofficial Walt Disney World Vacation Information Guide - WDW Planning Guide - Walt Disney World is a great resourse. Also go to Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor and go to the Florida forums.
You have a LOT of people that know just about everything there is to know about visiting DisneyWorld and all it entails.

Wow you're in for a treat! All of the cities you are going to are fantastic! Don't be afraid to explore the lesser known areas of those cities.. especially in New York and Boston. A lot of tourists seem to hang around Midtown and Chinatown and never explore other areas.

Also, don't forget that there's a whole lot more to Washington D.C. than the area around the all of the monuments and bigger museums. North of that is a big 'downtown' city center area with a vibrant nightlife/shopping. Utilize the excellent subway system.

Good luck and have fun!!

Disney World is fun, Epcot and Magic Kingdom are my two favorite places. Try to stay on the disney resort grounds it makes it a lot easier to get around.
Are you planning on Driving or flying to Orlando from Miami? The drive is pretty boring really, there is almost nothing to see on the way up and it is done in about 3.5-5 hours depending how fast you go and how many stops. There are also many flights between the two cities from Miami's two airports and Orlando International Airport.
