I saw this today, thought it might be worth posting to save someone some aggravation:

Good post!

This same thing happened to me on Expedia...but fortunately when my ticketed flight was cancelled (found out later it really wasn't cancelled- the airline just didn't sell it to Expedia so Expedia had to buy it from another airline thus resulting in another scheduled ticket)
I didn't have anything pressing and was flexible....thank goodness!

But if you have a wedding, funeral or other timely event....book thru an airline- not a discounter.

Our Sunday paper has a column devoted to people who have gotten ripped off by a discount place ( or travel agency)

Amazing that after a person trying for a year without resolve, the writer can get them their refund and an apology.

Bad publicity is the only thing some of those places undertand and fear.

I don't think Expedia is in the same class as those two sites mentioned.

I've used Expedia countless times in the last 10 years with no problems whatsoever.

I used Expedia to book a hotel in Shanghai, no trouble. But for airfare I would research Expedia, then go to Flight Centre who say they will match any fare.
