Hi everybody!
I currently live in Washington State, and am going to move to Alaska in April. I'll be taking the ferry from Prince Rupert to Ketchikan, and I plan on driving myself up there.
I am looking for people who have driven Highway 97 and 16 before (The suggested route on google maps). I'd like to know what road conditions are like, where I can find gas station information or anything else that would be useful! Even a better route maybe?
I've never driven in BC before and I would really appreciate some tips for the road. Thanks so much!

I do not know about the section from Prince George to Prince Rupert. The drive to Prince George is very easy. You will have no problem finding gas stations. The road could be a little beat up as the spring thaw will be in progress. When I took 97 into Canada I crossed the border late in the evening. Canadian Customs was bored so they went thru everything in the car. Took me 2 hours to get thru and I was the only car there the whole time. If you are crossing at night be sure to check and see if it is a 24 hr crossing. Not sure how much money they require you to have nowdays. Whatever it is be sure to have enough or you may be denied entry.
