I am needing suggestions on finding the best price on airline tickets. I want to travel from Tulsa, OK to Boston Mass. then to Portland, OR. then back to Tulsa, OK. I have two weeks for traveling.
First, see if Southwest does that route. They would probably be the cheapest.
If that doesn't work, go here: ITA
Click on Search Airfare, then click on Log In As Guest.
Type in your dates, see what comes up, then book directly with the airline.
The site we use the most is mobissimo.com. I like it because it checks all the other websites like Cheap Tickets, all the major carriers and a lot others. You still have to check the "bargain" airlines like Southwest and Jet Blue (I think). We also use vayama.com too. Same basic principle, but I generally find mobissimo cheaper.

I'd use SWA, and the bus option for Boston. SWA will not stiff you for your routing, as will a conventional carrier. I have done a bunch of SWA one-ways in the past year, transporting a motorhome cross country, and leaving it near an airport to fly home and feed the dog and go to school one weekend / month.
I also ALWAYS check each airlines individual website because they are often the lowest. Be sure to use the multi-city option to price your ticket. For example, plugging in random dates in March a one way on United from Tulsa to Boston was $302. However if you book a multi-city ticket with United for your entire trip, the ticket is $550. So instead the multi-city works out to around $180 per leg. That is a big difference!
Check Southwest too.
