Passing through I've stayed at the Honolulu Airport Hotel - HNL area.
Also the Hale Koa at Ft. DeRussy- which is right between the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Outrigger - Waikiki area.

How was what? The hotel? Served its purpose. The HNL location was great! Right off the airport with a shuttle to/from. And I ventured out into town- the Bus came right up to the door almost.

The Hale Koa was great as well. Perfect location.

There are so many hotels in Hawaii....and on Oahu alone, where Honolulu and Waikiki are- it's traveler's choice! So many rooms and so many vacancies. You can find great bargains.

I would venture to guess that all the frequent contributors to this forum have been. Which island? Narrowing it down will give you a better response.

Kauai.

Na Pali Coast. The Kalalau Trail. Hanakapiai Falls. Waimea Canyon.

It's all surreal.

Hawaii is made up of several islands, 6 that people freely go to, 2 that are restricted, and 1 that is still trying to break the surface of the ocean. Where on Hawaii are you talking about? Also Hawaii is the name of the State and it's also the name of one of the specific islands (county). Details!

is that the Honolulu area (as in the main district many call the CITY) or are you talking the entire County of Honolulu which comprises the entire island of Oahu? Or are you talking the general tourist areas from Diamondhead to Kakaako that many think is also part of the Honolulu city area?

There are many hotels since that's the main tourist area. You have economy motel types all the way to luxuary Condotel resorts. Where to stay has lots to do with budget, ammenaties your after, atmosphere of the place, what you want to do outsiide the hotel, how your getting around the island, and how long will you be there.
