I am thinking about going to Barbados in mid-November with my SO for a few days. Any advice on where to go, stay, what to see, etc?

Thanks!

Great island.

Barbados is divided into parishes. The west edge of the island (st. james) is the most expensive, and has hotels like sandy lane, treasure beach, turtle beach, tamarind cove. The south end of the island is christ church parish, and the beaches are not as nice as the west side ... but the prices are much less expensive.

Bridgetown is pretty crowded, but check out cheapside for shopping deals, and st. lawrence gap. Last time we were there we rented a mini moke (have to buy a 1 year bajan license for 10 bucks or so ... lol ) and drove it all over. Picked it up at the airport and left it w/hotel reception when we flew out.

Check out harrisons cave, gun hill, bathsheba (the east coast/rocky side of the island) and think about going on a mount gay rum tour, and a catamaran sailing.

PS - as is the case in most of the caribbean, the beaches are public. Basically you can walk up the beach and you don't necessarily have to be a guest at the hotel.
