Planning on taking a trip right around Christmas this year. 5-7 days probably but pretty flexible on that.
Haven't done much traveling since I was a youngster due to family and finances.
Single woman with a camera.
Not really that interested in Europe though not sure why.
Have been looking at Panama and again not really sure why but it just sort sounded interesting as does Brazil.

Not interested in doing the cruise thing. Maybe a one day tour type but not for a whole week.

Any other suggestions of places that I might not have considered?

If you like taking photos, you would have some splendid opportunities in the Americas. It might be cheaper to get to than Europe, but then again, maybe not. I love Europe, but it is not for everyone.
Obviously it depends on what you like.
My son spent fall semester in Panama and had a wonderful time and went on some cool excursions.
Are you looking to be in a warmer place? Costa Rica. Guatemala.
There is Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands (British and American.)

How about Buenos Aires and the surrounding region? Photographer's dream!

Wow...wish I could take several months for this! Will have to look into some of the other suggestions. Yes, for some reason South and Central America seems to be where I have been looking. Had not thought of Buenos Aires before - will have to check that out as well.

And yes...I have actually thought of New York and that whole area but I think going south is more to my liking at this point.

Thanks! Oh...and keep the ideas coming...

Default travel destination

How about Ecuador? I haven't been there myself but went to a presentation of the country a few months ago and it seems to gather all types of landscapes and is full of interesting sites and things to see and do. After seeing all the photos and hearing the conference I only wish I could go and visit the country now!

You could tie in a visit to the Galapogas Islands if you choose Equador! GI would offer great photo ops, if you like nature.

Actually have seriously been considering Galapagos Islands and would love to see Easter Island. Ok, why or why can't I be wealthy and just spend the rest of my life traveling?
