My girlfriend and I will be taking a vacation to get away from it all and I'm looking for suggestions on where to go. I'd like someplace relaxing without the rushed feel of being in a big city. I also like all-inclusive resorts if anybody knows of some good ones. Throw me some suggestions, all are appreciated.

Without knowing much about what you both like to do,,, Heres my romantic weekend

A private cabin by a great sparkling creek - including an outdoor barbeque or fire pit that we can cook steaks on and cuddle up to at night and star gaze.. Go horseback riding the next day or go for a nice long hike and come back to our private cabin - rinse/repeat

I suppose I should have clarified my intentions. I'm thinking somewhere tropical such as Hawaii or possibly a place like Puerto Vallarta. We both love being near the water and would like a place that offers some seclusion without feeling completely distant from life! An all-inclusive resort would be neat if anyone has suggestions.

Thanks!

Costa Rica, Cabo and Puerta Vallarta come to mind. We're going to 2 of those 3 in June and August. Though if you're looking for an AI, skip Costa Rica. There is so much to see/do there that you'd waste it sitting at an AI all day. Both PV an Cabo have a ton of AIs, but I can't recommend a specific one since they are so not my thing.

You need to tell us how far you are willing to travel and if you want to stay with the lower 48.

Find a nice breakfast and bed in your area using tripadvisor.com...those places are then pretty good at knowing things to do in the area.

Probably out of the lower 48, somewhere that is tropical. I'd be willing to go about anywhere, money is not my concern on this trip. I was having a few problems in my relationship and we decided a nice vacation is in order (probably a week appx.).

Anyone been to Puerto Vallarta? There are so many places that seem to be a great fit; Hawaii, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Aruba, etc! I don't know what to chose!

Fiji.

If you're a member of Costco, check their travel services.

yeah, Fiji or the Cook Islands (less tourist-ie) Go to an island off the main attraction and you will be treated to a very peaceful interlude. (At Island pace)

If you're looking to just relax, Aruba is perfect for that. However, Curacao is much, much better and it's right next to Aruba. Also, look into Barbados, Antigua, and the Cayman Islands.

I'm going to PV in a few weeks, so I'll let you know how that was. We got an amazing deal to PV, which is the main reason we're going, kinda a last minute booking. I think there are even better deals from Phoenix.
