I'm thinking of doing a 4-person trip to Las Vegas on the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. The airline tickets from Dallas or from Houston to Las Vegas for that weekend are ridiculous...a couple hundred dollar more expensive than dates just before or after that weekend.
What web site(s) do you use for booking your travel? Do you know of any package deals or other types of deals, especially for Vegas, but I could use that info for future travel to anyplace else also? If so, please share.
Please share your knowledge!! I want to save my dough so that I can spend it on the "good stuff" in Vegas
Vegas is always expensive on weekends, especially holiday weekends, even in the middle of summer. There's no shortage of people going there. We live in San Diego (45 minute flight) and can't get cheap airfare. I assume it's even more for other areas.
Thanks, MAK802. At least it makes me feel a bit better about the fact that I'm only now seriously searching for deals for that trip and it's only a few weeks out; I thought had I started a couple months sooner may be I could have gotten a great deal, but it looks like it might have been only a little cheaper, not a whole lot.
I use the following web sites for my trips... if you know of others or others that are more helpful or give nice deals please do share!!
Travelocity, hotwire, etc are okay...they generally have the same deals advertized as these other web sites. I like Orbitz because it gives a nice matrix of prices and other information, but kayak is also great because it lets you search multiple places all at once.
Try the "travel deals" forum on FatWallet.com. There's a permanent thread on Vegas hotel deals, with links to "insider" prices. Some of them require you to belong to the casino's rewards program, but you can often do that online ahead of time.
wow! Thanks yellowsnow and marence. I did not know about those two web sites and the info there.
I'll check those out.
Thanks again.
Any others?
