Hi fellow CD-ers - I am in search of a luxury spa weekend for girlfriends for a long weekend anytime from mid September to early November. We are hoping for a nice spa with a good range of treatments; and other activities such as yoga or light hiking. Locations- Arizona, Colorado or New Mexico (though we would consider other areas). Ive looked at some of the resorts - MiiAmo for example - but that's more than I want to spend - hopefully 1K or under for the 3 days. Ideas???

There are a ton of those in Scottsdale. Hopefully someone can recommend a specific one!

Actually, I was going to recommend Mii Amo at the Echantment Resort in Sedona. I think it's physical location is one of the most beautiful spots on Earth.

Go to their web site and put yourself on their mailing list. I get an E-mail from them once a month with some pretty good deals.

The funny thing is I'm not a spa person myself and I live in an area where it seems like there's one on every corner. Plus the resorts.

You didn't mention Utah, but there are some nice spas there. I've been to the Green Valley Spa in St. George UT. It was wonderful; the food was great and the hikes were fantastic! Their rates have gone up and are out of your (and my) price range. I get the newsletter from the Red Mountain Spa in the same area. It looks great - I haven't been there yet. Check it out: St George Utah Spa Resorts: Red Mountain Spa in St George UT

Come to think of it... I'd give them a call. Because of all the hoop-la surrounding the new AZ law (not that I want to get into that) they are probably more than anxious for customers. Tell them you are anxious to vacation in AZ and ask if they have any special deals. It's worth a try IMO!
