I was being sarcastic about the hassles involved with flying nowadays.

I agree that a trip that long would be a bit too much for my family, but others might be able to handle it.

However, I say enjoy the trip and ignore the child haters. You and your child have just as much of a right to be on that plane as any other paying customer.
Of course they do, but they do not have a right to scream and cry uncontrollably. How about we fly together and I sit in the seat next to you and scream in your ear.

Depends on the restaurant. Nice stake house, Melting pot, you are right, and it was probably my fault to bring in a baby into a nice ambiance. Taco Bell, Pizza hut, I will be busy trying to deal with my kids tantrums and would care less if you are being 'disturbed' by noise. Same goes for the flight.

Have you considered inviting your babysitter/childcare worker along to help out? My sibling did and had a marvelous time. She would gladly do it again, well worth the cost.

I better bring some ear plugs

You are expecting children to be little adults, that seems very strange to me.

No, I'm expecting adults to be considerate and responsible, 2 qualities which are very rare today. My parents didn't take me or my siblings on flights until we were old enough to be controlled. My parents did get embarrassed when we were loud or uncontrollable in a place that wasn't specifically made for kids. It's about taking responsibility for YOUR kids. The world doesn't revolve around your kids, it's your responsibility to make sure your kids can handle a situation, or you make other accommodations.

As the dining with kids thread has concluded you have no right to foist your screaming brat on others...especially in the confines of a plane.

Just wow that you think others want to be subjected to your kids tantrums.
