If it is a beach destination you might want to take your own large beach towel, that's the only thing I can think of.
I went to New Zealand with a friend and she was always a clean freak. What I didn't know about her was that she was an OCD clean freak.
Not only did she bring her own towels (one for each day we were there) she also brought her own sheets, plillows and 8 packages of socks!!! She would not go barefoot, but she would have to change socks before putting them into her shoes. She would throw away all the towels as she used them, because washing them would not do!!!
I was not allowed to shower first, because I would "contaminate" it. She would bleach the shower floor first, then run the hot water for 15 mins, then she would put a towel down, and with her socks on her feet, get into take a shower. It took this idiot (no, we are no longer friends) forever to do this ritual every single moring. I got up before her one day and showered before her and she was so mad, that I thought if she has a knife in hand, she would have gutted me!!!

I only pack a towel if I'm heading to a beach area. I trust that hotel towels are washed in hot water like they should be.

But if I shared the same concern, I think I would buy some cheap ones at my destination and leave them behind when I leave. That way you wouldn't take up precious room in your luggage with towels.
