Default Tri Cities

Hello

Well we will be in our new Richland home on or about 9/15/2007. I come from Riverside california (since 1956 and Indiana before that). Found SsoCal to expensive, too crowded and crime rates out of sight. We wanted a nice place to retire, with nice people and a slower pqace of life. we have relatives in Wenatchee. Hope that Richland is a good choice. A nice new home which would have cost almost 750K in LA area and only 250 in Richland. We are used to hoyt weather and look forward to the winters and season changes. They say the "folks" are nice there and so far so good. See you all very soon...do I need to remove my CA license plates...LOL

Default Welcome Ron

I wanted to wish you warm greetings from Richland Washington. I trust you will find the Tri-Cities a little paradise in Washington State. I have a friend that moved down to San-Diego recently. He's buying his time until he can move back. Welcome!

The closest methodist affiliated church in your Horn Rapids area is Central Church (aka Central United Protestant) located in Richland.

Thumbs up Have fun in the Tri!

Hi Ron -- I'm the San Diego guy who is waiting to move back to Tri-Cities (hi AH! ). We love the weather and beach and sun and surf -- but WOW! what a price to pay to live here! As you well know unless you're making some serious money, i.e. at least $200K / year, it's difficult to afford much here. I have a Harley as well and I can't wait to get back up to the NW and ride -- some beautiful area's to ride and the winter is usually short enough and mild enough to ride almost year round -- just get some heated gloves and you're in business! I was born and raised in LA and have lived many places -- my heart always goes back to the Tri and the pace of life -- relaxing and enjoyable. Good place, GREAT people! Take care and good luck -- PS - Try the Central Church in Richland -- great music and excellent people...you can't tell I used to go there can you??!!

Default one last thing...

...I was referring to the cost of living in San Diego area being out of control, not the Tri!

The people are FANTASTIC...nevevr seen such friendly people///not a bum in the lot. The weather so far has been good...rain today...HOORAY...We have found some good restaurants contrary to what we were told about the area...good shopping and we are beginning to at least have a haldf way decent idea as to where everything is. We miss our old home but as of now we know we made a great decision and hope some of my family migrate up here. More in a week or so

To Anyone that has the time to answer me: Thanks so much!

I will be subsitute teacher in all the schools in your area if I ever get moved to Tri-Cities. I know what the weather is there as I used to teach full time in Dayton, Wa and lived outside Milton-Freewater, OR. My dilemma is is that I cannot find a rental home for mid-August '09 occupancy that is nice but not terribly expensive since I will be on-call as a subsitute teacher with the schools.

I would buy but there are no mortgage lenders that have a vehicle for non-verifiable income people since the market turned upside down in many areas. Cental Oregon (Redmond) is one of those areas that is in dire straits economically so that is why I am headed back to WA state. Once the mortgage industry straightens up, I will have access to buying again. I am paying big time it seems for other's over-buying mistakes, etc. I have excellent credit and have been a home owner since 1970s.

I am a lady over 60 and have a medium sized cattle dog, spayed female as a pet. I want to work still but I need housing in the Tri-Cities area. It could be anywhere from Prosser to Burbank as I have applied to all the school districts to work in the schools this fall.

Any help you can give me on either a rental or a private contract to purchase a home in the $125,000-$175,000 range would be very helpful. I would be most grateful for some help on my living situation as I cannot seem to find a home to live in without being there in Tri-Cities to look around. I have been looking since April 2009 so it is time that I find something if I am to move by Aug. 15th.

I am looking forward to living in Tri-Cities somewhere as I have lived many areas around it in WA but not there. I also know how upbeat, very friendly and not depressed economically your area is in comparison to other areas and states. And yes, you do have loads of shopping for those shop-a-holics that think CA is the best place to live because most people think WA and OR are in the sticks and there is no shopping or nice restaurants there............There is lots of shopping and all the major restaurants. I always love to go to Tri-Cities for a visit so I know I will love living there. I found the people generally in my last visit to be very outgoing and very, very friendly.

Anyone that has any great suggestions for me please write me on this site or on my private email. I need help and 30 more days will be going by quickly.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me. Ooops, hope someone sees this as I think I posted it on the wrong msg. board.......
