Default Kennewick, Washington

We are thinking about moving to Kennewick and would like to live somewhere in the country, but I have concerns about rattlesnakes. Do they have rattlesnakes in that area. We live in Arizona now and I am tired of rattlesnakes in my yard. I was also wondering if the wind blows there all the time or if some areas are better than other for wind? Thank you.

Rattlesnakes are mostly confined to rural areas, so you may have problems with them, i live in the city, so I have no problems. The wind can be strong and can seem to be constantly blowing, but there are long-stretches of windless times and the wind is usually not too strong.

Thank you for the information. How long have you lived in the area? Are you familiar with the Benton City area, is that very far out of town and is it a good
area to live? What areas do you recommend to be just a little out of town?

I am a life-long resident of the area. I don't know much about Benton City. It's about a 10-15 min. drive to the Tri-Cities, it's a small city. The Yakima River that runs through part of town floods sometimes, but I do not know how often, or when the last time it happened. I took a recent drive through town, the downtown isn't much and many homes were rundown. Outside the city proper is much better IMO.

I'm sorry I don't know what IMO means. Our kids are thinking about moving to the area as well. Do you know what the job market is like for blue collar jobs, and average pay? Thanks for the info on Benton City, thats good to know.

IMO= In My Opinion
Well, teaching is in demand, because of the many new schools. As well as construction because of the area's exponential growth. Hanford may have some average pay job openings, but I am not sure. The best thing to do would be to search the internet and find a job that fits perfectly. I suggest these websites:

southeasternwashingtonhelpwanted.com

bettertricitiesjobs.com

or search Tri-Cities, WA jobs in a search engine
