Tri-Cities has my vote
I like the Tri-Cities and moved here from CA in 2003. Great schools, low housing costs, plenty of shopping and great free family/community activities in the warmer months. mod cut Best Wishes!

Reason: go ahead and use a DM for that if you'd like ...but no soliciting on the board. Thanks.

Where to begin?
My husband and I would like to transplant to the Tri-cities from the Bay Area. We are simply struggling here with the cost of living. Any recommendations on how to begin this journey? I've applied online for several jobs and it seems it might be quite difficult to get something "online". Should we save some money and plan a "go see" trip? We have a young daughter and would like to live in an area where there are good schools, lots of families, slower pace of life, outdoor activities, and lower rent. At first we chose Yakima, but now I am reconsidering after reading several posts on this forum.
Here's some background on us:
I work in upper management in retail (though I'd like to move on to something more administrative)
My husband has a background in retail management as well, but eventually wants to study culinary arts, so right now he is just waiting tables.
Any hints, advice, comments would be appreciated!

Where would your husband study culinary arts in the Tri-Cities?
