The US Army Corps of Engineers has shoreline rules for docks. Apparently it is using guidelines used along Lake Rufus Woods and the Yakima River delta in order to regulate timers and even pipes to help vegative cover grow. Dock owners apparently have to build docks that meet strict guidelines. These have been up in public forums. Black Cottonwood is native, but grows where its wet. Wouldnt it be better to use xeroscape gardening and Red Ossier Dogwood and Garryoak along the Columbia River. Russian Olive grows in Richland, but often is not native. Richland is now updating its Shoreline rules can we expect the same as Findley?
