"Natural" Food and Dining in the Tri-Cities?
What alternatives are out there in the Tri-Cities? Whole Foods, Trader Joes? Are there any others in the area?
How about natural restaurants for dining out?

The Pita Pit on Rd. 68 Pasco advertises itself as a healthy foods retraunt. Funny thing too because its neighbor is a pizza place.

Hey, eat a healthy pita one weekend and then the next, go get a pizza with the works. Ya gotta have a balance in life!
I just took a look and there are NO Whole Foods or Trader Joes anywhere in eastern Washington?! Is this true?

They don't have Whole Foods or Trader Joe due to the fact of area's income level.
The Median income has to be over a certain level otherwise they feel it would
not be profitable for their company. Whole Foods is very expensive, so look at their
locations in Washington. Bellevue and Seattle which i believe the median home prices
start at 500k plus and incomes are higher. That is too bad, but maybe sometime in the
near future maybe they can add a Trader Joe's.
Small towns always attract fast food joints and chain restaurants.

I believe Trader Joes is thinking of it -- I've spoken to their corp HQ and that is the answer I get. This is a lot of disposable income here in the Tri, look at Anthonys -- one of their most profitable locations is here....PF Changs is booked a week out for any good time slots -- Bonefish is packed all the time -- it's nice to see -- people will spend here and we look forward to more nice restaurants and shopping.

I would also like to see a Trader Joe's, we hit the one near the Seattle airport whenever we are over there. Sad but true, there is money around here, more than enough to shop at Whole Foods, but most of the people here are just plain tight. Maybe it's the historically cyclical job market, I don't know.
Trader Joe's appeals to me at least partly due to excellent prices on wines (Two Buck Chuck, etc.) Quite a lot of their products are not only good but a good buy.
It is funny how this place will support a chain like PF Changs to the 9s, but won't support locally owned restaurants nearly as well. Go figure
