Renting in Tri Cities, WA
My husband and I are moving to the Tri Cities area in June '08. We are visiting in a few weeks to look at apartments or houses to rent. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, we would really appreciate it. We have not yet decided which city to move to, but we do need to want a semi-nice place, with 1-2 bedrooms, preferrably 2, and we have one big dog and one small dog, and a maximum price of $650 a month. If you have any info, please let me know.

I am exploring moving over there as well, and have found several possible finds on Apartments for Rent and Resources for Finding Apartment Rentals Nationwide - ForRent.com ... there was one apartment, 2 bed, 1.5 bath it appears, 1000 square feet for only $550! With my salary, I can get that on my own and make the 2nd bedroom an office!

You will probably find a ton of rentals in the starter home neighborhoods of West Pasco. A few years back a lot of people bought new starters in West Pasco for the sole purpose of renting them out. So you have the benefits of lots of rentals to choose from and most of them will be 5 years old or less.
Richland and Kennewick will of course have rentals as well but I would suspect not as many nor will they be as new (generally speaking).
Good luck.

Where are you going to work? I'd pick a rental in the same city. Depending on what you want, there are relatively plenty of apartments and even houses available to rent.
Most landlords won't be enthusiastic about the dogs, but, if you look around and/or pay an additional deposit, you will find some that will do business with you.
The West Pasco area does indeed have a lot of new construction, but if you are working at Hanford you will have a (relatively) crowded commute.
Since a rental is not an investment, I have always went with something a little older and downscale of the newer and trendier apartments.
An alternative you may not have thought about is Benton City, there are apartments there and IIRC they are somewhat cheaper than the "true" Tri-City apartments.

This one is in Kennewick. Rent ranges from 475-675 or so for what your looking for. These apartments are located close to everything. Kennewick has mos of the shopping, restaurants etc and you could pretty much walk from these apartments.
Village At Grandridge
425 North Columbia Center Boulevard
KENNEWICK, WA 99336
Depends on what you need and where you work because with gas prices the way they are you want tolive close to home.
