Are there any non-religious affiliated private schools in the Tri Cities area? We are looking to move to the area within the upcoming year. It is extremely important to us that our children attend good schools, but we are also interested in purchasing some acreage to run a hobby farm. Most areas where we can find reasonably priced land (Prosser, Benton City, etc) do not appear to have the best schools. We, of course, would prefer to send our kids to public school, but would look into private school if we are not in the best school district. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I do not believe so. The private schools I am aware of are either Catholic or some flavor of evangelical Protestant.

I don't think Prosser schools are half bad, don't have kids so don't know for certain, but my impression is that while they may not be as good as say Richland, they are better than OK.

In any case, IMHO, for elementary education, which is, well, elementary, you don't need a Nobel-Prize winner to teach it. And in high school, the glands turn on and the brain turns off, so again you don't need top flight instructors to do what teaching can be accomplished.
