Basically if you live in town, only the spiders should be very high up your list of trouble, though coyotes and skunks were known to venture into town (especially the outer regions of Kennewick.)

Outer regions, hell. Just go straight to City Hall if you want to find the scorpions.

I lived there 13 years and never saw a one. I spent plenty of time out in the sagebrush going to keggers, in the service at Yakima, camping, and just plain hanging out in it. Of course I didn't go looking for them.
It isn't something to be overly concerned about. Just take normal precautions and inspect your body if you think you might have a tick.

Coyotes, never even heard of one coming close to a human until this thread.........But yes we have lots.
Ticks, we have lots, take proper precaution.
Spiders, Black Widow and Hobo Spider. WE DO NOT HAVE BROWN RECLUSE!!!! That's a myth. People mistake Hobo's for Recluses. Hobo venom acts the same, but is not as toxic as a Recluse. But it can still be nasty.
Scorpions, we have lots. Mild venom, not dangerous to humans.
Snakes, Western Rattlesnake, Venemous, all Rattlesnake bites should be treated seriously.

Ouch. The people there all called them Brown Recluse. But he Hobo looks like the ones we had to deal with.
And the local scorpion's sting is not all that though I had to take a cat to the vet over one stinging it.
As for the coyotes they do get into the news.

The ones I finally caught in the act were killing one of my daughters cats at the time. Not that I did not have a bone to pick with them over my chicken coop. This was out along the Yakima behind West Richland.
People living in town shouldn't worry though, but there were problems with the coyotes up at Canyon Lakes. I knew people in Burbank, Finley, and out towards Prosser that had to deal with them too.
