Default Where to Hike?

Are there any hiking trails in the TriCities? I prefer someplace without a big rattlesnake risk...

Default Places to hike

There are two local hiking clubs that could help:
I-MAC (Inter-Mountain Alpine Club) at:
InterMountain Alpine Club

And FFOF (Fun, Fit & Over Fifty) at:
Fun Fit Over 50

There are also a number of guide books (try REI in Kennewick):
100 Desert Hikes
100 Hikes in the Inland NW
various other ones, specific to areas further away, e.g., Mt. Rainier National Park (3 hrs), Blue Mountains, etc.

It is possible to hike locally all year 'round. South of the Potholes Reservoir is good (~70 miles N), along the Snake River nr Kahlotus, etc. See one of the above books, or talk to someone at REI.
