Anyone know of any restaurants in the area open and serving Christmas dinner this year? My first time away from my family for the holidays and it'll just be the two of us.

I think the local buffets are open on Christmas, is that what you want, or do you want something more upscale?

Some people look down their nose at Old Country, etc., but depending on what you want, they can be a good value, you can eat as healty as you want. At the same time some people do tend to overdo it and maybe should stay away from buffets...

Try Avalanche. I don't know if they will be open or not, but if this is the kind of food you want, give them a call.

If I were in the restaurant business and not planning to be open on Christmas, if I got enough phone calls asking if I would be open, I might change my mind...

Of course the chains will be open for the most part, but, who wants to do chain food?

Thank you for the response. I'm open to any suggestion, even Old Country Buffet... I've never heard of Avalanche, but I will look them up.

Offhand, if you are new to town, take a look in the yellow pages of the phone book, they have a pretty good restaurant section, with at least some menus, and/or look at the ads and the "living" section of the Tri-City Herald, there may be some indication there who will be open.

The only place I've found is the Red Lion in Richland. 11-3, need reservations.

Te Red Lion in Pasco had a Thanksgiving buffet. Not sure about Christmas. I think Avalanche closed. You may also want to call Country Gentleman on Clearwater in Kennewick.

Avalanche did indeed close awhile back, now there is "Manila" Phillipine restaurant there. Again I would say call around and see who will be open, of course Shari's, I think, will be open, if they would suit you.
